is a bittersweet day for me. On this day, in 1994 my Pop died (my mom’s dad). He fought in the air force during World War II and was stationed over in England. He was SO proud too – I loved to listen to his stories. I can’t believe that he’s been gone for so long. When I woke up this morning and realized just what day it was today – I cried. I miss him and my Nana SO much that it hurts somedays. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think of them both. My youngest reminds me so much of my Pop in his mannerisms. My daughter reminds me so much of my Nana with her flightyness and how she flits from one thing to another and has such a love for food. And with the holidays approaching – I miss them even more.

Today is the day we honor our veterans and give thanks for protecting us. And I always say a special thanks to my Pop, for not only help protect his country, but for being the generous man he was and being the best grandfather there ever could be!
