So disgusted with myself!

I really am. I had such a great workout thing going starting the beginning of last November. I was working out 3 times a week with friends and then 3 other days I was doing the C25K! And I was doing great! But then Christmas break hit and everything fell to the wayside.

Then I got a job which had me working crazy hours so I was losing weight all on my own without having to workout because I just wasn’t hungry! Then I quit that job and ever since have been hungry all day – every day! And even though I’ve been lucky enough to not have gained any of that weight back (not sure how but whatever), I’m just disgusted with myself that each day I keep saying “tomorrow I’ll start eating healthier”, “tomorrow I’ll start working out”. Had I kept up with the ab workout that I was doing daily my abs would be rock hard right now. Or had I kept up with the 3 day a week workout I was doing my butt would be firmer. Or had I kept up with the C25K I’d be running a 5K right now! UGH!!!!

I do have to say though I saw someone last week that I hadn’t seen in over a year and she’s 42. And what a difference a year makes. I now have a new goal of what NOT to look like when I turn 42 and that’s actually getting me motivated every time I think about it!

Proud of myself…

for working out this morning instead of giving in to what I REALLY wanted to do – which was nothing! Thankfully I had a scheduled time for my friend to come so we could work out together – otherwise I think I might not have. And that is NOT a habit I want to get back into. I would have been so pissed at myself had I not worked out today. I was a bit worried my big toe would give me problems but it was fine. We’ll see how it feels tomorrow night when I’m up at the fields running week 2 day 3 of the Couch to 5 K!

Working out habit!

I think it’s official – I have become addicted to working out! I go a day without working out and I hate it. I think the whole key to keeping up with this (for me) is having 2 other workout partners! It helps SO much to be working out with someone else. We’ve been switching back and forth from doing Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred (on Mon., Wed. and Fri.) to doing the C25K program up at the fields on Tues. and Thurs. nights (and I’ll sometimes do it on a weekend before one of the kids games – depending on if there’s time). I’ve even added the Yourself Fitness Playstation workout on Tues. and Thurs. mornings and sometimes on weekends (if our weekends aren’t TOO crazy – like our past 2 weekends have been).

But I’m loving it and I’m noticing a difference in not only how I look, but also my endurance when it comes to each workout and just how I feel in general. I can go longer and not have it hurt so much – which means soon I’ll be able to move up to the next level on all 3 workouts. I’ve never gotten to the next level on any workouts! I don’t even think I’ve ever stuck to a workout regimen this long! (It’s going on 3 weeks now). I’ve lost 3 pounds too! It’s nice to be working out with others so that you can talk and not have to just think about the working out (and hurting) part. It helps to keep your mind off that part of it! Plus, it’s so much fun! We laugh and giggle or vent and get some anger out. I’m loving it!

Thankful for 5 Nov. 6, 2009

1. Thankful for my new friend and workout partner. I know for a fact that without her there’s no way I would have worked out as much as I did this past week! Today makes #5 of working out! Last night I so didn’t want to do the C25K program, but because I knew she’d be up there at the fields with me, I did it. (And today we might be adding on 2 more friends to workout with us.)

2. Thankful the situation with Tristan’s soccer team has been resolved and Sean and another dad from the team are now co-coaches!

3. Thankful it’s Friday! This week FLEW by!

4. Thankful I will be able to see all 3 of the kids soccer games tomorrow – not so sure about Sunday though.

5. Thankful everything went well last week with Sean’s surgery and he’s doing AWESOME!!!!! Much better then what I expected for what he went through!

30 Day Shred…

My 1st week of participating in the “Thirty Initiative” didn’t go off like I had wanted it to. Out of 7 days, I only worked out for 30 minutes during 5 of them. Which, now that I put that down on paper, isn’t too bad considering I just started working out again. Some of it was on the treadmill while the rest was just taking walks.

This week though out of 6 days I’ve only done 3. Being at my parents last week in Jacksonville was tough finding the time to work out and same goes for this past weekend.

This morning I tried something new. I just worked out to Jillian Michaels – 30 Day Shred and that woman is certifiably nuts! I am wrecked! Completely!!!!!! BUT, if I can keep this up, I bet in 30 days I notice a difference. I’m not so sure I’m going to start out doing this daily just yet. Maybe every other day. But I do plan on keeping with it. I’m gong to interchange between this DVD, my Yourself! Fitness Playstation DVD, my treadmill and my The Firm: Firm Parts – 5 Day Abs & Tough Tape 2. Those should get me going and ready to start the Couch to 5K in May. (I hope!!!!)
