My family and I walked in the 1 mile walk for the Race For The Cure this past Saturday. The kids had a blast!!!!
You can read all about it here on my Kicking Out Cancer blog! (Don’t mind the layout/look of it – I’m still working on it.)

Wednesday and yesterday the weather here was beautiful! It was perfect! It was the kind of weather that makes you want to take all your daily routines and your schedules and chuck them out the door! And that’s just what we did Wednesday night. We were supposed to go up to the fields for Tristan’s goalkeeper practice but we didn’t. We stayed home and played out back.I had the windows open all day Wednesday too! Then yesterday I met a friend of mine at Busch Gardens so we could just walk around and enjoy the weather. Met here there at 11:30 and left around 1:30. It was a nice, relaxing time.
It’s supposed to be back up in the 90’s today. Hoping the humidity is gone though. We’ll see.
I’m ready to say goodbye to relaxing weekends at home. This weekends is NUTS! We’ll be up and out of here by 5:30am tomorrow to get to St. Pete so we can walk in the Race for the Cure (which it’s not too late to donate to!) I’m thinking we’ll be there until 11 or 12. Then it’s race back home to let the dog out. Then off to Brandon for a soccer scrimmage for Kieran’s team and then right from there to USF to meet some families from Tristan’s team to watch the USF Men’s soccer game. I’m thinking we’ll be home around 10 tomorrow night. Sunday is picture day for the competitive soccer league so I’ll be up there selling merchandise from 1-4 and Sean will be dealing with our kids getting their pictures done.
I’ve been up today since about 3:30am and no chance for a nap for me today. Once the kids get on the bus I have to take my sister-in-law (don’t know what else to call her at this point) to the dentist and not sure when I’ll be back. Once I do get back there’s more stuff to be done by the time school gets out. Sucks when the 1st thing you think of when you wake up is “is it bedtime yet?” LOL
I’m looking forward to the Race for the Cure tomorrow and finally walking with my family. Kids are so psyched! T-shirts are in and look awesome. I’m sad though because I found out we can’t be in the t-shirt contest. You have to have a team of 10 or more – we’ve only got 5.
I’ve recently come up with a new logo that we are using as a family on our t-shirts for the Race For The Cure. And I actually had a few people email me saying I should show it to some of the big-wig soccer associations out there and see if they’d be interested in buying it. Not so sure I want to do that. Then I loose all rights to it right?
Anyway, I have been thinking bigger with it though. And have even thought of getting t-shirts printed up and then selling them – with the proceeds being donated towards research for breast cancer. I definitely wouldn’t need a cardboard display but a friend suggested if I do sell these on places like eBay, maybe getting boxes printed up with the logo on them to get it more exposure. I like that idea.
I’m still not 100% happy with the logo just yet either. One of them I am – the other one I still need to work on more.
