Look what I just made in about 5 minutes to sell the earrings I make up at the soccer fields. Pretty nifty huh? I used to just lay them out on a table but no one could really see them then from far away. Now they’ll be noticed better. Just need to make another one of these and then something similar to hold my necklaces and I will be set for selling this coming season!
So, you all know by now I started making necklaces and earrings and selling them on Etsy and at the soccer fields. Well, selling them at the soccer fields has been great! I actually sold alot last season. Selling them online at Etsy not so great. And it all has to do with advertising and marketing. Something which I know nothing about. In other words, I need to get it out there other then word of mouth and Facebook. (Which I do have a Facebook page for it, just haven’t been active on it enough.)
So, this summer my plan is to get the word out other then how I mentioned above. Someone suggested getting helpful hints or even direct help from an Advertising Agency. And while that may really work – just not sure if I have the funds for it. I did go online and happen upon THAT! Leading Advertising Agency where you can request a FREE portfolio from them which explains what they can do for you. I like that (and the fact that it’s FREE). 
What they do is help people bring their companies into the 21st century. Now while I may be somewhat of an internet guru when it coms to some aspects of the internet, I am at a loss when it comes to social media and marketing/advertising. Right now I just use social media well……for the social aspect of it literally: to keep in touch with family and friends basically. And I know I can be using it to my advantage 100% by getting the word out for my Scrappy Soccer Mom business.
Going to wait and see what their FREE portfolio has to say and then do some thinking. Wish me luck!
I was busy before Christmas making holiday necklaces to sell and give as gifts. I added a few (like the one below) to my necklaces album over at my Scrappy Soccer Mom Facebook fanpage. (Which is up to 52 fans – woohoo.)
Then for Christmas I made magnets for family members out of pictures the kids made out of school. You know – the pics that all the kids make and then the school sends them home as stickers and as a fundraiser saying you can also make that same picture into a towel, or a blanket or a mug, etc. Well, being as I’m crafty and all, I made ours into magnets. The one below Kieran had made – it’s a dragonfly. (I also added these magnets to my Facebook page as well.)
And then I also made personalized necklaces like the one below for my mom and Syndi and the kids teachers (all the necklaces have also been added to Scrappy Soccer Mom too). The one below is a nautical chart of Cuttyhunk that I made for my mom – one of her favorite places that we took our boat to while I was growing up.
